Wine Description

The 2018 vintage is part of the “Atlantic” series of vintages, characterized by being wetter and colder than average, especially after a short, dry year like the 2017. Despite the spring frosts that caused significant losses in most of the Duero Valley, the abundant rainfall that fell over the spring enabled the vines to recover and the grapes to attain an exceptionally good weight. In terms of quality, the grapes were remarkable for their finesse, with lower than usual tannin levels and higher levels of acidity. We therefore further refined the maceration work in order to produce elegant and flavorful wines.

Tasting Notes: Deep, concentrated color with aromas of raspberries and blackberries and a slightly spicy backdrop that brings out the fresh red fruit character. The finish is fresh and the vintage’s remarkable acidity and minerality combine to make Sardón 2018 a refreshing and extremely tasty wine.
