We used to think the term ‘working from home’ was too far-fetched… However, it’s our reality now. 😳

This is a ‘is my glass half full or half empty’ situation. Parents who weren’t able to spend enough time with their children due to the nature of their work and children who weren’t able to spend enough time with their elderly parents because they had to stay in the office for long hours on end are now able to do so. On the other hand, some of us may not find it conducive to work from home due to factors such as noise levels, a lack of discipline or lack of motivation. But fret not – Marco’s here to give you 5 simple and handy tips on how to best work from home!

1. GET UP FROM BED AND ‘TRAVEL’ TO WORK

As difficult as this may sound, you just need to open your eyes, scream into the distance for a few seconds, get up, wash up, and walk to your working desk 🙂. As easy as pie.

2. HAVE A HEARTY BREAKFAST

Have a balanced and hearty breakfast daily.

We’re sure you have heard of this phrase – eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper. Indeed, breakfast is the most important meal of your day. Why? Because it’s the meal that provides you with energy for the day ahead. Not only does it strengthen your body, but it also helps boost your mind and energy levels! Keep in mind we’re not talking about chocolates though. 🍫❌

3. REMEMBER TO SET ASIDE SOME TIME FOR LUNCH

Don’t forget about your princely lunch. Even though it’s not the most important meal of the day, it’s still somewhat important nevertheless. Do set an alarm on your phone or on your laptop if you’re the type of person that gets absentminded from time to time. If you’re a more ‘hands on’ type of person, then perhaps a post it note on your wall would help you.

4. GET A HOME WORKOUT GOING

You would wish for this to be your home gym.

Leading a sedentary lifestyle at home may make you feel restless occasionally or even daily. Why not get your blood pumping even if we’re all working from home? Personally, we’ve tried doing HIIT workouts whilst following YouTube channels such as Chloe Ting and Body Project. Not only are they easy to follow, but they burn a hell lot of calories as well.

Another fun way to shed some pounds at home would be to play Just Dance or Ring Fit Adventure on your Nintendo Switch (if you have one at home). If you’ve played Dance Dance Revolution in Timezone before, you’d love Just Dance. You can dance to major hits by international singers or groups such as BLACKPINK and have fun all at once!

5. WINE AND DINE

Cheers!

We know how tiring it can be after a full day of working tirelessly at home… Literally. As you wind down your workday, why not pour yourself a glass of wine and clink it to reward yourself? If you’re looking for fine wines and spirits, you know how to reach us! Don’t hesitate to reach out.

Let us all stay vigilant, stay alert and stay safe – cheers!
